June 28, 2021: This year’s BET Awards was epic, to say the very least. This year’s ceremony brought many unforgettable style moments as well as unique surprises like a Cardi B pregnancy reveal and a Lil Nas X makeout session.
Last night’s event, which took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, hosted some note-worthy ensembles (it was Zendaya paying homage to Beyoncé’s 2003 BET Awards Versace moment for me)! As its first return to in-person format following the coronavirus pandemic, the A-list honorees and attendees did not disappoint when it came to their red carpet looks.
Lil Nas X took the meaning of step and repeat to new levels with two separate gender-bending ensembles while other stars like Queen Latifah and Megan Thee Stallion went equally as hard pulling out all the stops. Ahead, GRAZIA compiled some of the best looks from the star-studded evening.
Saweetie
Saweetie is really giving “something fun something for the summertime, something for the girls” in a stunning purple Dolce & Gabbana gown.
zendaya
Zendaya poses with Lil Kim in an iconic Versace rendition of Beyonce’s 2003 BET Awards look.
Lil Nas x
Lil Nas X’s gown represents more than just a glamorous look. Designed by Andrea Grossi, the blue and white tapestry depicts the parallels Grossi draws between the church and Nazism.
Lil Nas x (again)
Lil Nas X opted for a floral suit with embroidered detailing by British designer Richard Quinn for his second red carpet look of the night.
Queen Latifah
Not only did Queen Latifah take home the Lifetime Achievement Award, but she also served looks in Thom Browne that would have put her up for the best-dressed award (if there was one, of course)
Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion mixed classic elegance with her sexy aura giving so much leg in this high slip Jean Paul Gaultier gown.
Chloe Bailey
This dress might be one of Chloe Bailey’s sexiest looks yet. The singer poses in a see-through mesh dress by Valentino.
