In Milan, the Galleria
Vittorio Emanuele II has hosted more than a century and a half of
elegant strolls beneath its glass dome. During the spring 2027
shows, it welcomed Jennifer Lopez for
Vogue World. She glided by in a black
Dolce & Gabbana gown, its tulle skirt glittering
with lace and beads. Sheer opera gloves and a necklace centered on
a luminous Paraíba tourmaline completed the fairy tale.
The very next day, the singer traded her ball-gown dreams for something wilder. On Wednesday, September 23, she stepped onto the streets of Milan in head-to-toe leopard. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, her longtime allies, clearly know how to bring out her wild side.
Leopard, a Love Story Born in Paris
The print first prowled its way into couture in 1947, when Christian Dior showed leopard dresses in his very first collection. His muse, the mysterious Mitzah Bricard, adored the motif and wore it like a second skin.
In 1962, Jacqueline Kennedy’s leopard coat by Oleg Cassini sparked a worldwide craze. Decades later, Dolce & Gabbana made leopard one of their most recognizable signatures, a glamorous symbol of Italian sensuality.
Inside Jennifer’s Wild Milan Look
Her cropped leopard trench, cinched at the waist, opened into a wide, dramatic collar. Coordinating spotted bottoms kept the silhouette playful. Stylists Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn added a mini patent bag and sleek black sunglasses. Gold accessories brought a final glint of sunshine to the whole look. The ensemble moved like a graceful cat on a sunny Milanese afternoon.
The Slingbacks Everyone Wants Now
On her feet, Jennifer chose the DG Leo slingbacks in kid leather, splashed with a multicolored leopard print. They follow the brand’s Lollo shape, a slim pointed toe on a distinctive heel. The name inevitably evokes Gina Lollobrigida, the Italian screen siren everyone called La Lollo. Paired with the matching trench, they turned the sidewalk into a true runway.
How to Wear Leopard Like J.Lo
Head-to-toe leopard calls for confidence, a quality Jennifer owns in abundance. Keep the accessories black or gold so the print can roar on its own. For a gentler start, slip spotted slingbacks under straight jeans and a crisp white shirt. A leopard coat over all-black works beautifully on chilly evenings. Fran Fine of The Nanny would surely approve.
A Roaring Encore
That Saturday, Dolce & Gabbana unveiled their spring 2027 collection, yet Milan was still whispering about Jennifer’s stroll. In the golden light around the Duomo, a little leopard magic seemed to linger, waiting for the next brave woman to wear it.
