Khloé Kardashian has allowed cameras to film the most vulnerable moments of her life on her family’s reality television shows. The 40-year-old has opened up about everything from divorce, infidelity and addiction to fertility and parenting. But despite living for public consumption, the 40-year-old has revealed for the first time how a harrowing breach of trust led her to find solace in working out.
“My weight loss journey started because I was getting a divorce,” the Good American founder revealed in a new profile. “I remember I was going to therapy and the next thing I knew, something private I told my therapist was on a tabloid. And I knew that my therapist disclosed this information to a tabloid because there’s no way this could have gotten out there,” she continued.
“So I stopped going to therapy and started going to the gym. I needed a release, but I did not trust anybody else anymore. And the place that I felt the safest was the gym.” Though Kardashian didn’t disclose what the therapist divulged, she did share that the experience was “very jarring and sort of unbelievable”.
“There’s not a chance in the world that it came from anywhere else,” she said of the leaked information.

A recent season of The Kardashians followed Kim Kardashian and Khloé’s best friend, Malika Haqq, trying to coax her out of her reclusive life in Hidden Hills and start seeing a therapist again after the father of her two children, Tristan Thompson, betrayed her by cheating multiple times in their relationship.
Though we didn’t see it on the show, Kardashian confirmed that she regularly sees Kim’s therapist after initially dragging her feet. “My therapist was like, ‘I think you should come three days a week’. [Laughs.] She was like, ‘You really need to be here’. It all worked out.”
The content of those sessions will remain a secret, but she promised that she is in a good place, especially when it comes to her love life. “Dating has not been a focus for me, and I’ve been single for about three years and love it,” she noted.
“I’m not single and dating. I’m just single. I have such power and strength in that. I’m not lonely,” she continued before adding, “I am single and thriving. I feel like I’m working on myself so much and am getting to such a good place that I just don’t want something to disrupt it.”
