Law Roach, the visionary Image Architect behind Zendaya and Celine Dion’s most iconic looks, is bringing his expertise from the red carpet to the classroom with School of Style, an innovative program designed to equip aspiring stylists with the skills and insights necessary to thrive in fashion. GRAZIA USA caught up with Roach to discuss his journey, inspiration, and how he’s redefining the art — and business — of styling.

From Personal Mission to Community Building

For Roach, the School of Style is more than a curriculum — it’s a reflection of his own path. Growing up outside traditional fashion capitals, Roach understands the importance of accessibility. “It’s a beacon of possibility,” he explains, empowering those outside fashion hubs like New York, Milan, or Paris. His goal is to foster a network of stylists who support each other like family. He refers to graduates as his “fashion children,” emphasizing collaboration. “I want us to build a huge network of like-minded people where someone will always have someone to call for advice, depend on, or collaborate with.”

What sets School of Style apart is its direct connection to the Only Agency, giving graduates a competitive edge. “Your chances of being employed are higher than someone who didn’t take the course,” Roach says. This unique link ensures students gain both education and access to professional opportunities, making it a bridge to real industry success.

Program Culture and Structure

The program’s flexible structure allows students to work at their own pace, making it accessible for those balancing other commitments. “You can take the course in your pajamas, with coffee, during lunch breaks, or even on vacation,” Roach explains. However, he stresses the importance of dedication. “Be ready to work because the challenge is there.”

Beyond flexibility, Roach emphasizes the balance between creativity and business acumen. “Understanding the business of fashion is almost, if not more, important than being creative,” he says. His program ensures students grasp both the artistic and financial aspects of styling, encouraging them to approach their careers with both vision and strategy.

Skills and Preparing for Real-World Challenges

Students gain invaluable insights into the realities of styling, including theory, technique, and practical troubleshooting. “You will get an inside peek at how I built my career and the things I think are important for every stylist to know,” Roach shares. A standout feature of the curriculum is its focus on financial literacy, an often overlooked component in fashion education. “Many freelancers make mistakes with finances,” Roach tells us, highlighting his commitment to preparing students for the challenges of managing their careers.

Roach is also candid about the less glamorous side of the industry. “The results are glamorous, but the work is not,” he admits to GRAZIA. “Always remember that the grind is more important than the glamour.” Roach extends heartfelt advice for those entering the program, sharing, “The advice that I would give students starting out in the program is to really engage with the material and don’t be afraid to ask questions and use all the resources. Take it really seriously because this could be your life. Your dreams can come true — I promise you.”

A Lasting Legacy

As for the mark he hopes to leave on the world, Roach shares, “I hope that I leave a legacy that I was able to open doors, help the next generation, and be known for not just putting pretty women in pretty dresses.” He’s confident School of Style will play a key role in shaping the industry’s future. “I think School of Style will help create the next generation of amazing Image Architects, and I will be very proud to see that coming to fruition.”

Law Roach’s School of Style is more than a training program — it’s a movement, offering both education and mentorship to those ready to enter the world of fashion. For aspiring stylists, it’s an invitation to learn from one of fashion’s most influential figures and join a network dedicated to mutual success. With Roach as their guide, students have the opportunity to turn their dreams into reality.
