Inspiring stories of successful women are being told more and more, especially over the past few years. “Every woman’s success is a reason to celebrate.” Nobody knows this phrase more than New York City’s own, Rachel Choy, the mother of two girls, lifestyle influencer, and the creator of the “In Rachel’s Shoes” blog.

Rachel worked a nine-to-five job, got married, and became a mother and viewed posting on social media as a fun and sideline activity during this time of transition. “I needed some occupation, but I also wanted some side income because my parents taught me to be my own boss throughout my upbringing,” Rachel explained.

With a little help from her husband and a lot of love and support, Rachel decided to bring her social media presence to a whole new level. “I’ve been working a lot on weekends and holidays to create enough content. The reason for that is because I didn’t have time for that due to my full-time job,” says Rachel.

She didn’t expose her kids on social media at first – she was trying to keep them safe. But because of Rachel’s busy schedule, she didn’t see her children and family that often. “Then I decided to repurpose my posting time and turn it into our bonding time,” explains Rachel Choy. “Whenever I had a chance, I posted about my silly girls and shared our beautiful family moments.”

That’s when she started going into a lifestyle and family presence on social media. Rachel is aware niche brings a lot of curiosity in the world of the Internet – but she manages to keep a balance between work and private life. “I know that people will always judge no matter what you post. So, I don’t share everything from our lives,” explains Rachel. “Only things that are interesting or can be beneficial to people.”

Her blog posts are divided into a few topics, such as travel recaps, lifestyle recommendations, food reviews, family tips and updates, shoes, and fashion. “Those are not exaggerated, trendy, or fake themes – those are my natural surroundings and interests,” explains Rachel Choy. “I hold on to two key ingredients in life – passion, and realness. And I also apply that in my work, posting, and blogging.”

Because she values “real” over “filtered,” Rachel has no problem sharing no-makeup selfies. “When you are true and honest to yourself and others – people will recognize that,” she says. Her honest and natural approach to Instagram posts and blog stories drew attention and gained the trust of many followers and brands. “Also, when it comes to brands and partnerships, I prefer to be real,” says Rachel Choy. “I won’t recommend products or services to my community if I don’t mean that from the bottom of my heart.”

Rachel points out that content creating job allowed her to combine all things she loves and enjoys. “All my passions, love, and creative sparkles are melding into this job, and it brings me an endless feeling of joy,” explains Rachel. “The only thing we should all strive for is to find the perfect work-life balance – only that will bring satisfaction and success into our lives.”
