Dr. Cameron Lewis is a fortunate man who can do what he truly loves. As an independent oral surgeon who travels to various communities across the country and performs his services, he can be generous with his talent and go where he’s truly needed. After all, he is a healer and a giver, and his independence lets him share his blessings.

In his primary line of work, pain is an essential factor. Of course, tooth pain is never a good sign, and Dr. Cameron Lewis would much rather people avoid things escalating to that point. Still, in a life-changing moment, he experienced in South Africa, the sight of waiting rooms full of people waiting for dental pain relief made him decide he wanted to become an oral surgeon.

Since then, he’s helped countless people around the United States by caring for their teeth. But that’s not all he does.

“I’m a big believer, and I believe in empowering people. That’s what’s most important to me,” says Dr. Cameron Lewis. “And I believe that God blessed me to be a doctor, but he also blessed me to be a giver and give to the people I meet either a positive message or something that will be able to help another person. So whatever you pour out to people will be returned to you.”

And Dr. Cameron Lewis gives a lot. He was the executive producer of A Question of Faith, a movie created to share the message of togetherness among people from walks of life. He’s also been fundraising to help families with children with autism in his native area of the Gulf Coast in Mississippi. Still, through his everyday work, he’s mainly just assisting regular folks that reach out to him.

“I have people who follow my page who DM me asking for words of wisdom or encouragement,” Dr. Cameron Lewis says. “And I have these words that I carry with me, like Isaiah 60:1, that brought light into my life and lifted me when I needed it the most. So I share those words, and they help, especially when someone’s depressed.”

With the relatable life story that saw him decide on a career early on, then struggle to reach it before finally making it and building a job on his turns, Dr. Cameron Lewis is more than capable of leading by example. A big proponent of spending time with friends and family, working out, practicing prayer and meditation, and following one’s vision no matter what, he’s on the side of all the good things that make life worth living.

“My story is supposed to be a blessing for other people. My testimony is someone else’s blessing,” he says. “You don’t have to be a surgeon to be able to relate to me. You can be in any other field you want, an entrepreneur, someone in finance, a lawyer, it doesn’t matter. Everyone must hear that they shouldn’t give up and keep moving forward.” Dr. Cameron Lewis indeed will, helping one patient at a time and assisting the wandering souls lucky enough to stumble upon him.
