Justin Bieber is married to the glowing internet queen that is Hailey Bieber, so it’s no wonder the man has his skincare sorted. But taking to the streets of Los Angeles with three StarFace hydrocolloid pimple patches on his has earned him a new level of respect from us entirely.
StarFace is a US-based skincare brand co-founded by former magazine editor Julie Schott. It launched with bright yellow pimple patches that were shaped as a star, an interesting move given that every other pimple patch on the market was doing its absolute best to be invisible. Not only was StarFace about offering an effective solution for congested skin (hydrocolloids are a wound dressing that absorb fluid and speed up healing), but making a statement about acne and the embarrassment that surrounds it. StarFace was about treating spots and looking cute — not about “hiding” perceived imperfections.

Hailey has waxed lyrical online about the Hydro Stars before, so it seems obvious that’s how Justin came to use them. He’s been seen wearing them once or twice before, but yesterday’s outing with three limited Black Stars feels like a real statement (we love a confident acne-positive king). Justin has also been candid about his experience with acne before, so honestly we’re just glad to see he’s treating his breakout with care.
You can shop the patches at starface.world.
Justin also isn’t the only A-lister to wear them on the streets. Bella Hadid has been seen wearing StarFace on numerous occasions; she even wore one purposefully as part of a recent campaign for Victoria’s Secret.
If this sort of coverage is anything to go by, expect to see cute, kitsch pimple patches everywhere, and us celebrating a spot instead of sulking.
