The mid-2000s are well and truly back. The original pop-punk princess, Avril Lavigne, has made her debut on Tik-Tok – by performing her debut hit SK8r Boi featuring an appearance from the ultimate skater, Tony Hawk.
Avril, 36, enlisted Tony to help her recreate her hit single for the short 30-second clip. The singer kicked things off by posing in a garden and singing the iconic lines: “He wanted her, she’d never tell, but secretly she wanted him as well,” before the camera zoomed in to her red tie and zoomed out again to skating champ Tony, 56, wearing the accessory.
Smiling into the camera, he then performed several tricks on a half-pipe while the chorus played.
“He was a… @tonyhawk #GoSkateboarding #sk8rboi,” she captioned the video before sharing behind-the-scenes snaps of the pair on her Instagram.

“I just posted my first @tiktok with the legendary @tonyhawk… go check it out!” she captioned the images.
The half-pipe was the same one Avril took to a few weeks ago, sharing a video of her wiping out on her board.
Avril was picking up speed on the board as boyfriend Mod Sun recorded her and told her to be careful – right as she slipped off.
“Are you still recording?” she asked him as she burst into giggles and the singer rushed to her to make sure she was okay. “Oh no, oh no, honey,” he could be heard saying.
“Hope this makes you laugh as hard as it’s made my friends and I laugh all week,” she captioned the video. “That’s what I get for sk8ing in my slippers and dress.”
“Ur the cutest thing on this planet,” he commented.
The pair have been together since early 2021 when they collaborated on his single, Flames. “Flames is a very special song,” Avril shared in a statement, I love how the acoustic version turned out. It really brings another layer of emotion to the song.”
“I felt like sonically I could paint that landscape through acoustic guitar and a string section,” Mod Sun added. “I wanted to make something that felt like we were performing in your living room.”
