After bringing Sunday Service to Paris Fashion Week over the weekend, Kanye West debuted his Yeezy Season 8 collection with the help of his six-year-old daughter, North West.
During the show, Kanye and Kim Kardashian’s firstborn took to the stage to make her official musical debut, after months of impromptu performing during West’s Sunday Service choir events. Dressed in a baggy purple outfit – surely made by her rapper-turned-designer dad – North confidently rapped as models walked down the runway.

Kardashian, who was in the crowd, filmed her daughter’s debut, while West came and stood beside her proudly at one point. But North’s first foray into music ruffled some feathers with the parents of five-year-old child star ZaZa quickly calling out the performance for not crediting their daughter.
“We take PRIDE in creativity, and believe whether a child’s involved or an adult… creativity deserves RESPECT/homage!” they wrote, sharing ZaZa’s ‘What I Do’ video next to North’s performance on Instagram for comparison. “What @kimkardashian (Kanye west) are doing with their daughter… with the inspiration of ZaZa & our family in mind is okay… we not mad BUT PLS SHOW LOVE AND SUPPORT TO THE ORIGINAL FIRST!!!”
The family also said they “admire” West, but “don’t [want to] feel like our daughter’s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED.”
Kardashian quickly commented under the post, writing, “We love you, North is a huge fan and records in the studio all the time with her dad and is inspired by ZaZa and loves Lay Lay too! Today’s performance of North’s remix of ZaZa’s song was something she asked to do at the last minute and a complete surprise. I didn’t mean to not give credit where credit was due. Would love for the girls to meet soon. 💕”
Could 2021 see a ZaZa x North West album be released? To be honest, we wouldn’t be surprised.
