The Italian fashion house has always been synonymous with femininity, its signature red hues seen on floor-length gowns and tulle consistently littering the red carpets at awards season. But this time around, designer Pierpaolo Piccioli wanted to ensure a woman’s power is front and centre, showcasing that femininity can not only coincide with strength, but enhance it.
The collection’s shoes, accessories and bags all encompass fierce femininity, but perhaps no piece more so than the Garavani Rockstud Alcove double handle bag. Building upon the heritage of the Rockstud range, which celebrated its 10th anniversary last year, the updated edition sees the VLogo Signature fully covered in studs while two iconic twist lock closures firmly flank it on both sides – and opening to reveal the aforementioned striking red in the form of nappa lining. It makes complete sense Valentino would tap Zendaya as its new house muse—a woman who’s as powerful in real life as she is on screen. Another perfect embodiment of Valentino’s message?
