Art: Glenn Sandoval

It’s been 21 years since Bulgari first launched the B.Zero1 ring. Crafted using their Tubogas method where thin strips of gold are wrapped without the need of soldering, it’s a process that allowed its design to represent the most treasured of all Italian amphitheatres, the Colosseum. Since the turn of the century, this band of gold has borne reference to the country’s most visited ruin as well as cement it as an archetype of refined jewellery. Today’s incarnation boasts a gritty new gravitas and the addition of the word ‘Rock’ to its name. The enabling of gold studding and pavé diamonds has consciously modernised it and only helped to further its following. Few pieces of jewellery have been as coveted, the solid band worn over the years by Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez, Julia Roberts and even the beloved, late Chadwick Boseman. Such status is rare and bequeathed to only the most desired of artisanal icons – the B.Zero1 is a deserved recipient.

This is Bulgari’s new work of art.
