Victoria Beckham, brows

While fashion from the 90s is back and better than ever, certain beauty looks are arguably better left behind—namely, skinny eyebrows. Celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Victoria Beckham were rocking the thinnest arches for most of the decade, and in the age of the big, bushy brow, the majority of us are pleading for them not to return. Even so, the Victoria Beckham Beauty founder’s eyebrows are not something she has any regrets about, per her recent interview with Dear Media’s Breaking Beauty podcast, released on Wednesday, May 5. Beckham describes her beauty evolution as an “experimental journey.”

“You know, I’ve been so lucky to work with the best makeup artists in the industry, which has just been so, so great,” Beckham told co-hosts Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins. “And I look back at pictures, and people always say, ‘Oh, do you cringe at any of the pictures?’ You know—do I cringe at that heavy lip liner? No, it was, it was a journey. Do I cringe at those skinny eyebrows? No, it was a journey and way too much blush, you know, we were working so hard, and we were so exhausted. There was a time where we were in a different country every few days. And the more and more tired that we got, the more and more blusher that we put on.”

“I look back at all those pictures, and I just think, you know what, there’s something so nice about when you’re young, you shouldn’t care too much.”

However, Beckham’s admitted that it’s taken some time to grow her eyebrows out. In a 2017 interview with Into The Gloss, Beckham revealed she uses Latisse, a prescription treatment intended for eyelash growth, on her brows and lashes. “I’ll use a generous amount on my eyebrows as well, and my brows have completely grown back. I have gone through phases where I’ve stopped using it, and I noticed a big difference,” she shared at the time.

And in a 2019 YouTube video with Anastasia Soare, CEO and founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Beckham gushed about her loyalty to the brand and its cult-favorite eyebrow products. While the two chatted, the beauty pro worked her magic on the former Spice Girl’s eyebrows, using her brand’s Dipbrow Pomade and Dipbrow Gel to transform Beckham’s brows. “I only ever use Anastasia’s brow products because, as I say, she is the eyebrow expert,” explained Beckham. It sure sounds like Soare refuses to let history repeat itself when it comes to Beckham’s brows, even if it is “experimental.”
