Gucci Beauty Sérum De Beauté Fluide Soyeux Primer, $79. shop now

It feels rude to call this new launch from Gucci a mere primer because in actual fact, it is so much more. It’s a light, silky fluid that fills lines and pores, smoothes texture and imparts the most beautiful rosy glow. It’s sheer and completely translucent, but still manages to make skin look better. My Valentine’s Day plans are very low-key (takeaway pizza on the couch with my SO, if you will), so in lieu of full glamour I’ll be using this priming serum and a lick of mascara. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor

Small Dior Travel Vanity Case. shop now

Crafted in Rose des Vents supple lambskin and with a band embossed with “Christian Dior”, this small vanity case is my favourite from the DiorTravel collection. Not just exclusive to airports, this little beauty’s main compartment will hold more than just a lipstick and a face mist; phone, wallet, a notepad. If you are thinking of investing in this keepsake this Valentine’s Day, my suggestion would be to add the matching ‘Rose Des Vents Christian Dior Embroidery adjustable strap’, worn crossbody for a personalised touch. I’m lucky enough to own one myself and am waiting hand-to-keyboard for the day I can book a flight to Milan, with this beauty my treasured carry-on. – Jessica Bailey, Editorial Director

Caudalie Resveratrol-Lift Firming Eye Gel Cream, $81. shop now

This French eye gel contains a patented resveratrol complex alongside quinoa extract, firming peptides and bio polymers for a bright, well-rested eye contour. It’s a gel texture, so sinks in quickly and won’t irritate on contribute to puffiness, either. Try it before (and after) date night, to refresh after an adult sleepover, or to soothe and firm up the eye contour after one too many wines over dinner with friends. The fact Caudalie hails from the romance capital of the world is a nice touch, too. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor

This Works Love Sleep Pillow Spray, $42. SHOP NOW

I’ve been a pillow mist addict since my early days as a baby beauty editor. I just love the ritual of it, and there’s quite a bit of evidence to show it supports proper rest, too. This Works is lauded as one of the best (and funnily enough, is founded by an ex- beauty editor), so this month I’m trading in the original for this Love iteration. It contains added ylang ylang and patchouli, two aromatic compounds thought to calm and in some instances, function as an aphrodisiac. But regardless of what you’re using it for, it makes for a nice moment before sleep (or otherwise), especially when you’re sharing the bed with someone special. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor

tatcha Kissu Lip Mask, $45. shop now

Gone are the days of buying a $5 lip balm from the grocery store. This year – and in apt time for February 14 – I’ve upgraded to the real deal. Read: the Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask. Born from the makers of the cult Dewy Skin Cream, this gooey, silky treatment is the answer to a kiss-worthy pout (exclusive to your partner and household only, of course). Upon application, the cool gel melts to liquid to hydrate and deeply moisturise sensitive lips. And it’s anti-ageing to plump those pesky fine lines and wrinkles – bonus! Like its Tatcha cult cousin products, the secret behind this dewy concoction comes down to a blend of J-beauty ingredients. Think Japanese peach extract, rose extract and Japanese camellia oil. – Rebekah Clark, Features Writer

Tom Ford Tubereuse Nue, $480. shop now

Tom Ford screams more lust than love, but that won’t deter me from drenching myself in this heady white floral come February 14. The new juice is powerful and feminine; an obvious floral but with an edge. With notes of jasmine, tuberose (a favourite of mine) and pepper, it’s not a scent for wallflowers or introverts. Instead, it’s sensual, unusual, but still very wearable – a fragrance trifecta Mr. Ford is well-known for. A soft, musky, skin-like finish tops it off. In a word, it’s olfactive heaven. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor

Summer Fridays R+R Mask, $83. shop now

“If you know me, you know I can be a huge introvert. That’s why my self-care routine is so important. Whether that be treating myself with a quiet evening in or a night out with my significant other this Valentine’s Day, there is nothing quite like a pre-social masking date. Recently, my go-to has become the Summer Fridays R+R mask. As the name suggests, it’s the perfect 2-in-1 spa worthy treatment that will aid the skin and the soul. It lightly buffs the skin with finely grounded wild rose powder and enriches a tired face with argan, safflower, sesame avocado and grade seel oil: rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants. What is also noteworthy to mention is the R+R Mask contains no animal products, phthalates, parabens, sulphates, surfactants, petrolatums, BHT, BHA, and silicones. So, you’re not only loving your partner this festive season, but the planet.” – Rebekah Clark, Features Writer

Chanel Gabrielle Body Cream, $134. shop now

A deliciously decadent body cream is a great way to show yourself a little love, so I’ll be reaching for this new superlative from Chanel. It’s thick and buttery, plus carries the scent of Chanel Gabrielle; rich jasmine, deep ylang ylang, fresh orange blossom and a touch of sweet, head-turning tuberose. Slather it over damp limbs directly after a shower, and top with the matching fragrance for a long-lasting effect. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor

Vida Glow Hyaluronic Complex, $110. shop now

Mimic that first love glow with Vida Glow’s just launched Hyaluronic Complex. It’s a first-to-market liquid hyaluronic acid supplement, designed to hydrate the skin from the inside out, and stimulate the body’s own production for a complexion that’s fresh, bouncy and comfortable. The taste is a sweet-but-sour acai berry, and the tiny ampoules mean it’s easy to cart around, even in tiny clutches. Consider it an act of love from the inside, out. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor

Jo Malone Red Roses Bath Oil, $95. shop now

A long, hot bath is the epitome of self care, in my opinion (and that might be because I’ve spent a great deal of my adult life in apartments without one). Whether you’re going it alone or sharing, a luxurious oil or bubble bath (or both) is essential. A personal favourite of mine is Jo Malone’s Red Roses version. It’s a silky mix of jojoba, sweet almond and avocado for hydration, but the real drawcard is the scent. Think long, freshly cut red roses that are sweet and in full bloom. There’s also crushed violet leaves and lemon, so it’s romantic without being cloying. – Emily Algar, Contributing Beauty Editor
