It’s the hot list every brand wants to find itself on: mega-search platform Lyst’s quarterly round-up of the hottest brands and the hottest individual products.

While the winner of the top spot for the last quarter – THAT Gucci GG logo belt you’ve seen on every street style star and influencer worth their fashion salt lately – comes as little surprise, there were a few surprises too. And not all come with a hefty price tag either.

If you own any or some of these pieces, pat yourself on the bag for being at the cutting edge of must-have fashion. If not, there’s still time to jump on this logo print-lined bandwagon.

The 10 most in-demand designer items of Q2 of 2018

NUMBER 1: Gucci GG logo belt

If this one looks familiar, then chances are it’s because you’ve seen it dozens of time in your Instagram feed, typically wrapped around a blazer as a type of waist jewellery or woven through distressed denim in ironic high-low street style.

NUMBER 2: Fila Disruptor II Sneakers

The surprise new-comer to this season’s tally, these Fila sneakers are also the most budget-friendly on the list at just a smidge over $100. All hail the rise and rise of the Ugly Sneaker. They do come in a range of colours including black and baby pink, but in this case, white’s always right.

Fila, Disruptor II White Sneakers, $120 at The Universal Store. SHOP NOW

NUMBER 3: Gucci logo-print swimsuit

Given the hard return of ‘90s style, it was only a matter of time before high-legged white one-pieces became a thing. As usual, Gucci was ahead of the game – with a dash of logomania added for extra flair. Expect this to be a Grammer go-to swimsuit come summer.

NUMBER 4: Prada nylon and leather belt bag

The carry-all formerly known as the bum bag still rules supreme, just as this oversized version by Prada is the most in-demand. Wear around your waist a la Rita Ora (below right) or slung cross-body and blinged-up like Adwoa Aboah (below left).

NUMBER 5: Jacquemus Saudade dress

Sexy but chic, figure-hugging but flattering, this dress has the X-factor thanks in part to its universal appeal, but also the celebrity style mavens who snapped theirs up early. Case in point singer and Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon at this year’s Brit Awards. That side-draped design and thigh-high split are everything.

Jacquemus, Saudade Side-Drape Dress, now $462 at The Line. SHOP NOW

NUMBER 6: Off-White ℅ Virgil Abloh industrial belt

Hard to miss, even from a distance, this belt was spotted on multiple occasions (on different people, that is) at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Clever because it’s gender neutral, but certainly not the typical finisher for a classic tailored look.

NUMBER 7: Chanel canvas cap-toe espadrille flats (pre-owned)

Here’s another addition to the list that might surprise, not for the label or style mentioned, but the fact it’s the only search that’s for a second-hand buy. That’s due entirely of course to the fact Chanel doesn’t yet have any e-commerce offering or online retail partners (although this is in the pipeline for launch in the very near future). Regardless, canvas-toed Chanel flats are a timeless wardrobe staple, regardless of their heritage.

While the most classic of the list, this dress does come with a hint of royal magic. Contemporary brand Goat, apparently a favourite of Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle, hit a winner with this elegant blue Whitey-style dress.

NUMBER 10: Balenciaga platform Crocs

Proof that even the most hard-nosed designer fashion enthusiasts have a sense of humour. Who’d have thought these would catch on, let alone make it to the golden top 10 of lust-haves? Touché Demna Gvasalia.
