Taylor Swift swapped the Eras Tour for a bout of equine fever with her latest off-duty look. The songstress, who has just wrapped up the penultimate leg of her billion-dollar-grossing arena tour, arrived at Arrowhead Stadium the day after finishing her final show in the US to support her boyfriend Travis Kelce. In lieu of sequined matching sets or ethereal gowns, Swift saddled up for a ride in Chiefs Kingdom with her most recent game day outfit.
While Swift has experimented with her WAG style by wearing everything from a denim Versace corset, plaid Vivienne Westwood mini dress and even face glitter, this offering is something deeply rooted in her repertoire: Horse girl chic. Western fever has become one of the most defining trends of this year with everyone from Bella Hadid, Lana Del Rey and Beyonce channelling their inner cowgirl. But Swift’s look is a little more Rodeo Drive than true rodeo, with the Grammy Award winner rocking up to Kansas City in a bevy of designer labels.

The 34-year-old referred to a tried and tested silhouette of an oversized letterman jacket, long boots and micro shorts for the occasion. However, she dispelled any rumours about her lack of personal taste by reaching for coveted items like Agolde’s high-rise shorts, a knitted body suit from Mugler, Christian Dior’s saddle bag and a pair of suede cowboy boots from Christian Louboutin.
Of course, given Swift originated in the music industry as a country artist, it’s only fitting that she embraces her beginnings through this aesthetic. As you may recall, Swift previously showcased her penchant for equestrian regalia this time last year when she stepped out in New York wearing an oversized Stella McCartney rugby shirt with a horse face embroidered on the chest, a Polo Ralph Lauren cap and tan leather boots that reached her knees.

That look might’ve leant into a more English riding sensibility, but Swift proved to be firmly in the midwest with her honky-tonk sartorial endeavour. As The Tortured Poets Department singer gears up to re-release her self-titled debut album, this ensemble could be viewed as an Easter Egg proving that record is next up on the slate. Yet, the all black silhouette is very Reputation coded, too. We’ll have to keep a lookout during her Canadian shows to find out what Swift has planned. All eyes on the Great White North.
