With only a few days left until the sun moves into Libra, Sydney Sweeney is proving that late-September Virgos do not play when it comes to celebrating their birthdays. Case in point: the Euphoria actress’ totally b*tchin’ 80s prom-themed 26th birthday bash.
Complete with mountains of curls—held in place by the Farrah Fawcett and Steve Harrington-approved ‘Faberge Organics’ hairspray, of course—metallic rara skirts, statement shoulders and miles of lace hosiery, Sweeney’s commitment to the bit cemented why Virgo’s reputation of being perfectionists proceeds them.
Of course, for any fan of the brat pack movies, we know that an 80s romantic comedy must conclude with a cliché swell of feel-goodness. In Sweeney’s fantasy, which is not too dissimilar to the plot of Pretty in Pink or Valley Girls, her party ended with the star blowing out her 26 candles to the tune of Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want To Have Fun”.
The only thing that would’ve made the evening more tubular would’ve been if Glen Powell arrived holding a boom box à La Lloyd from Say Anything.…
On the beauty front, Sweeney’s guests went the full gamut in blue eyeshadow and frosted pink lips, while they posed for their prom photos. Yes, even A-listers aren’t immune to being awkwardly forced onto a staircase to cheesily pose with their dates.
Sweeney rung in the night with her fellow Giorgio Armani ambassador and Riverdale alumni Camila Mendes, Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham and her Euphoria co-star, Lukas Gage.
