In January of 1997, Princess Diana made an impassioned plea to the world to help the victims of landmines in Angola. She did so in a pair of Superga 2750 Cotu Classics, setting a precedent for Royal off-duty-on-duty dressing hereafter – and one daughter-in-law Kate Middleton has paid sartorial tribute to ever since. Yes, plimsolls have been long been worn by Royals in Africa and Wimbledon on many occasions.

From Monday September 7, GRAZIA can exclusively reveal that Italian brand Superga is releasing their Organic Collection in Australia. Fusing the heritage of their past with the innovation of the present, Superga’s original 2750 plimsolls, 2790 flatforms and 2490 skate shoes have been re-crafted using materials and methods that have a low impact on the environment.

Rest assured the styles are exactly the same but the upper composition of the shoes are now made from 60 per cent organic cotton, 40 per cent natural hemp and 100 per cent organic thread. The insole of the trainers are composed of a layer of natural cork and its sole is made from 50 per cent recycled rubber.

From pairing with bobby socks to run errands to teaming them with a midi skirt for afternoon drinks with friends, you can feel even better about wearing these versatile and durable wardrobe staples.

Superga’s Organic collection ranges from $119.95 to $149.95 and is available to purchase in Australia from Superga.com.au and key retailers including The Iconic, David Jones, Glue Store, Platypus and Tuchuzy.
