Generally speaking, the best displays of fashion week beauty are seen backstage and on the runway, but podcaster, influencer and creative Vanessa Hong blew it out of the ballpark with her shiny hair outside Peter Do.

Hong — who is regularly snapped outside shows looking chic as hell — showed off a non-conventional (but very creative) way with silver barrettes, using stacks of them to pin back the front half of her hair.

According to Instagram Hong currently has step bangs, another cool trend that involves a chunky, cheekbone-grazing layer that frames the face. But instead of discreetly-placed bobby pins, Hong instead used the barrettes as a sort-of shiny helmet/hair piece. Sounds weird, but as per the ensuing photos, we’re sure you’ll agree it’s a pretty incredible beauty moment.

It’s not the first time Hong has worn statement-making hair accessories, either. At  Chanel’s Metier d’arts Show back in 2018, Hong wore a French roll studded with tiny pearls and crystals. It was so beautiful that it actually led to a Net-A-Porter collaboration with NYC-based brand Lelet and Sara.
