We all remember that dress. Jennifer Lopez arriving at the 2000 Grammy Awards with then-boyfriend Puff Daddy in a plunging, tropical green gown by Versace. It was a history-making moment for both Lopez and fashion as a whole, and now that iconic gown is being reimagined in sneaker form.
In celebration of the dress’s 20th anniversary and Lopez’s 50th birthday, sneaker store Concepts has collaborated with the Italian House to bring you one of the most glamorous sneakers we’ve seen in a long time, Concepts x Versace Chain Reaction. Covered in that ferny green jungle print, the sneaker even has a nude tongue to mimic the gown’s plunging neckline (and JLo’s tanned décolletage and navel).
Plus, of course, the classic Versace logo; the Medusa head and column-like volutes, along with a chunky white sole and thick laces.
Italianate jungle fever meets streetwear; never did we think we’d see Jennifer Lopez’s gown immortalised in a shoe, let alone a sneaker, but we’re here for it.
