In February it was revealed that Shailene Woodley and Aaron Rodgers split just one year after announcing their engagement. The surprise breakup was apparently due to differing schedules with E! News reporting that the couple had “grown apart”. It wasn’t long until the pair reunited in late-February in Los Angeles sparking reconciliation rumours, and were again spotted together attending a wedding in March. Keeping up?
Amid all the hysteria of a possible reunion, a source for E! has confirmed this week that the actress is officially “done” with Rodgers. “[They] are not together,” a source told the publication, explaining, “Shailene tried to give it another shot and was spending time with Aaron. But she quickly saw that everything was on his terms and nothing was going to change. There was no reason to continue and she’s done with it again.”
It’s not a storyline that you often hear from Hollywood. After all, recent years have seen fans and celebrities alike celebrate getting back with an ex. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez; Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber; Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard; Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom. The list goes on.
Since the split, Woodley had remained (rightfully) sceptical about the reunion. An insider told People in early March that, “They both had intense work schedules in the fall and it wasn’t possible for them to focus on their relationship. Now when Aaron’s season is over, he wants to give it another try. He thinks Shailene is very special. She is more hesitant though.”
It is not known how long the couple had been dating as they flew under the radar until at least 2020. That July, the Big Little Lies actress told The Hollywood Reporter that they wanted to get know each other more before going public.
If anything this a sign that it’s probably best not to get back with your ex.
