The 90th annual Academy Awards red carpet is almost as eclectic as the array of films nominated for Best Picture. Direct from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, leading ladies Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong’o led a metallic brigade, both in dripping gold, a nod to the little (albeit big deal) statue man of the hour. “Lawrence is a bronze goddess in Christian Dior,” says GRAZIA contributing style editor Alissa Thomas. “This sexy, metallic gown has serious Joan Of Arc vibes, a heroine once again so relevant in the fight for female equality. It’s a perfect blend between strong and beautiful.” Margot Robbie proved her status as the new undisputed Aussie queen of film as she added “Chanel ambassador” to her lengthy resume recently and walked the carpet in her best look to date. Both Ashley Judd and Salma Hayek wore purple, perhaps a purposeful nod to peace in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal at the event that once saw him throw his powerful weight around. Emma Stone arrived in a pant suit (do we have thoughts on this?). And Emily Blunt is GRAZIA’s Best Dressed pick.
