Much like the art of getting dressed, the process of choosing which lipstick to wear is deeply personal and can influence the entire day ahead. It’s a truth acknowledged by Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, Peter Philips who is guiding the House into a new era of beauty with Rouge Dior Forever.
For the very first time, Dior has created an extreme long-wear lipstick in bullet-form. Rouge Dior Forever promises 16-hours of no-transfer wear and comfort. In other words, it’s working to make the dreams of every lipstick aficionado come true.
But this lipstick range isn’t just about longevity, it’s also about colour and innovation. Dior has a reputation for combining science with beauty, and the craft behind this launch is no different. To create new shades that don’t compromise on brightness, despite their long-wear promise, the House enriched their formulation with oils that mean the product is easy to apply and never drying, along with colour setting to ensure the formula stays exactly where you want it to.
The range introduces 16 new shades, including several nude shades. With different skin tones in mind, Dior has introduced four nude intensities including 100 Forever Nude Look, 200 Forever Nude Touch, and 300 Forever Nude Style. And to create bold tones that will always stand out in a crowd, Dior has used the scientific power of peony flower extract to create a range of intense shades in a soft matte finish.
Beyond the nudes, there are a number of standout shades in the range, including 525 Forever Chérie, a super wearable and incredibly pretty blush; 720 Forever Icone, a pigmented rosewood that would suit day or night; and 999 Forever Dior, the ultimate classic red lipstick.
“Rouge Dior Forever, these three words almost sound like a manifesto. And in a way they are,” Phillips has said on the launch of the range. “This new generation of Dior lipsticks is loud when it has to be loud, and discreet when wanted and for sure, always beautiful.”
