After Riley Keough emulated her grandmother’s iconic wedding dress at the 81st Golden Globe Awards in Chanel, the actress has upped the ante, walking the red carpet at the 75th Primetime Emmys arm-in-arm with Priscilla Presley herself.

The multi-hyphenated actress, singer and producer completed her award-season hat trick, attending the Emmys after receiving her third nomination for her performance as the intrepid 70s rockstar, Daisy Jones, in the nominal Daisy Jones & The Six. For the occasion, Keough continued the procession of glamorous Chanel gowns she began after being announced as an ambassador of the French Maison in October 2023.

Keough’s red carpet ensemble also came courtesy of the luxuriate’s Spring 2023 Couture collection. (For the uninitiated, Keough opted for the penultimate look from the menagerie-inspired panoply for the Golden Globes, with the 34-year-old selecting look 45 for the Emmys). The look consisted of a plunging black tulle bodice that flowed into an ethereal sheath-style skirt with a pair of sequin shorts underneath.

Keough also lent into the coquette aesthetic Presley and Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla biopic helped popularise by styling her newly-died black tresses into a half-updo tied together with a black ribbon.

Keough and Presley’s attendance marks their first public outing together since the passing of Lisa Marie Presley in January last year—almost a year to the date of their red-carpet foray.  The tragic and untimely death of Lisa Marie came two days after she and Keough attended the 2023 Golden Globes together.

The late singer’s death was reportedly the impetus for an alleged feud between Keough and the 78-year-old. Lisa Marie was the owner of Elvis Presley’s iconic Memphis residence, Graceland, with Priscilla purporting her right as co-trustee to the estate over her granddaughter. In November, a Los Angeles court judge ruled in favour of Riley’s sole trusteeship and inheritance of Graceland.

Their unified display (in matching Chanel, no less) marks the next chapter of the Presley dynasty. One with a new matriarch at the helm. One that continues to honour both Elvis and Lisa Marie’s legacy.  Speaking on the red carpet, Keough noted her plans to posthumously publish her mother’s untitled memoir later in the year—a book she also co-wrote.

“It’s just something I felt I needed to do for her and help her complete her project,” Keough said on the red carpet. “It’s very bittersweet and I’m happy to do that for her,” she continued. “It’s extremely emotional and therapeutic and makes me feel close.”

In the words of Daisy Jones: “Look at us now”.
