It’s only the first few days of December, but already the Christmas carols are playing and the fashion crowd are celebrating the party season in the only way they know how: by co-ordinating looks that match the occasion — and finding parties to wear them too, of course.

Earlier this week, Rihanna made headlines when she was photographed wearing a Christmas red mini dress while vacationing in her home country of Barbados with her beau A$AP Rocky. Her Magda Butrym design featured floral embellishments and cut-outs and Rih teamed the look with a matching red Gucci bag. Her equally stylish partner in crime complimented her colour palette by wearing a statement Jean Paul Gaultier graphic long-sleeve.

Now, back in the US, the singer has upped the ante even further, wearing a disco ball two-piece that will no doubt be on the New Year’s Eve mood board for her fans.

Proving sequins — and party season dressing — doesn’t always mean tight clothes with short hemlines, the singer opted for a long-sleeve shirt and matching baggy trouser combo made out of sparkly disco ball material to watch Rocky perform in Miami during Art Basel at the city’s nightclub, Story.

The 34-year-old added her signature flashes of skin to the otherwise street ‘fit by leaving her shirt unbuttoned, simultaneously showing off matching high-waisted sequin briefs. She accessorsied with a black sequin clutch and added a pair of strappy open-toe heels. See the photos here.

Rihanna, who recently came under fire for her choice to include Johnny Depp in Savage x Fenty Volume 4, opened up about motherhood and getting fashion fever back while promoting the show.

Speaking to The Washington Post, the 34-year-old said there’s no hard and fast reason as to why she hasn’t shared any details about her and Rocky’s 5-month-old son yet, including his name, saying it more comes down to simply being busy. “We just didn’t get around to it yet, really,” Rihanna said when asked about sharing her baby’s name. “We’ve just been living. But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with kind of just like getting it out there,” she added.

Later, while speaking to E! News, on the red carpet she added that she considered relaxing in leggings during her pregnancy “a sport,” but that she’s now ready to hit the ground running. “Once you get to the other side, you’re like, ‘I gotta get back,’” she explained. “There’s something that just happens.” Get back she has indeed.
