Clean beauty brand Biossance have announced their latest ambassador, and it’s none other than Reese Witherspoon. The actor and producer has signed a five year contract with the cult skincare purveyors, which will see her become a global face for the brand and work to create educational content for Biossance.
“I have always been conscious of what’s being put on my skin, but after all the time I’ve spent on-sets throughout my career, I’ve learned so much,” the Big Little Lies star said in a statement. “As my knowledge has grown so has my desire to use clean and consciously created products. I not only fell in love with Biossance’s products, especially their Rose Oil, but also their innovative, female-led team and their mission towards a sustainable future. My skin has never felt healthier and I’m proud to work with such a strong industry leader in sustainability and care for our planet.”
Witherspoon also shared a video to her Instagram page of her skincare routine to announce the exciting new partnership and share a few of her favourite Biossance products. She revealed that she uses the Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum ($95) to brighten her complexion, followed by the Squalane + Omega Repair Cream ($89). “The great thing about this is it’s not sticky and it’s not greasy,” she said of the cream, before waxing lyrical about her “favourite” product, the Squalene and Vitamin C Rose Oil ($49).
Biossance has carved out a notable space in the beauty industry, becoming one of the fastest-growing clean and sustainable skincare brands in the world. The brand stemmed from biotech giant Amyris, which is funded by major players like Bill and Melinda Gates, and was first launched back in 2016. As a brand ambassador, Witherspoon will also collaborate with Biossance on a range of limited-edition products.
