“The YSL girl is proud of her femininity. She is beautiful and modern.” And so begins Tom Pecheux’s first foray backstage for Saint Laurent in his newly-appointed role as YSL Beauté global beauty director. Delivering insight into the makeup visionary’s future direction for the brand, the beauty look paid homage to a strong individual sense of belonging.

Welcoming in Day One of Paris Fashion Week, Pecheux’s Fall/Winter 2017-2018 Saint Laurent makeup expressed a natural, pure face adversed by a strong eye. As impossibly healthy skin canvassed perfect complexions, youthful luminosity was extracted from a glow as though born from deep inside. In dissidence to the skin, eyes brought a strength to the look through an unruly smudging of black across the lid. Each look intense. Each look individual.

To create his Saint Laurent look, Pecheux first prepped the skin with OR ROUGE HUILE VOLUPTUEUSE, TOP SECRETS INSTANT MOISTURE GLOW, and TOUCHE ÉCLAT BLUR PRIMER BASE DE TEINT FLUIDE before applying TOUCHE ÉCLAT LE TEINT with his fingertips and TOUCHE ÉCLAT LE CUSHION to conceal. On the lips, Pecheux applied TOP SECRETS LIP PERFECTOR to hydrate before finishing with ROUGE PUR COUTURE N°12, BLANC.

To create the wild eye effect, YSL Beauté makeup artists used fingers as brushes – swiping MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS THE SHOCK from the outer corner of the eyes inwards. To finish the look, TOUCHE ÉCLAT GLOW SHOT N°2 SUNSET was applied to cheekbones and the bridge of the nose.
