Now that Paris Fashion Week has drawn to a close, we’re reflecting on the many beauty moments that captured our attention this Fall 2022 season.

From sophisticated spider-lashes at Chanel to the slow resurgence of dark circles, here are a few of GRAZIA‘s favourite makeup and hair looks from the week that was.

Dark Circles at Chloé

Ditch your concealer and embrace those late nights instead, because dark circles are now officially a style statement. As previously detailed on TikTok, having a bright, even undereye is out, as evidenced by the models on the runway at Chloé (and French girls, who’ve seemingly done without it for decades). “Too much concealer changes the shape of your face – you lose dimension,” makeup lead Hannah Murray revealed of the look.

More is more when it comes to mascara, said the Mod Girls of the Sixties, who reportedly served as muse to Chanel’s Virginie Viard for the French house’s Fall 2022 outing. Models’ lashes were delicately positioned together in striking, spidery fashion to achieve that precisely clumped aesthetic made famous by the era. Bobbed hair, rosy cheeks and petal pouts added to the effect.

Inner Shimmer at Dior

Groomed arches and flushed lips played supporting act to a silvery shimmer on models’ eyes at Dior. Makeup legend Peter Philips opted for just a small glimmer of shine applied to the inner corner, but its impact was evident.

Sweeping Slick at Saint Laurent

Sweeping locks framed all-but-bare skin at Saint Laurent, lending the classic coiffure a modern edge.

Wet-Look Locks at Sacai

We-look locks reigned supreme across the four cities, but perhaps nobody wears it as well as Sacai’s French girl. Raked back and away from the face, the liquid finish was concentrated through the roots with the ends left loose.
