Life is a little…different when you’re a globally-renowned supermodel. Wearing head-to-toe leather to do the school run is but one example. Irina Shayk was photographed in New York City yesterday doing just that, picking up her three-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, from school wearing a painfully cool get-up.
Donning a leather jacket, tie-dye cut-out jumper, leather trousers, chunky combat boots and a chained wallet by Burberry (she is a long-term muse of the brands’ creative director Riccardo Tisci), the only tell that the model was picking up her daughter and not, for example, strutting down a Parisian runway, was the Minnie Mouse lunchbox she carried as she walked.
Shayk welcomed her daughter in 2017, while she was still dating Lea’s father, the actor Bradley Cooper. Shayk and Cooper quietly dated for fours years from 2015 to 2019, making only a handful of public appearances during that period. They parted ways last June, though clearly remain on good terms—they are often papped with their daughter in New York, and gladly posed for photographs together at a BAFTAs party in London this January.
Cooper, who previously dated model Suki Waterhouse, has kept his love life relatively under-wraps following his split with Shayk. Shayk, on the other hand, has been linked to art dealer and gallerist Vito Schnabel, who famously dated Heidi Klum for three years, with the pair splitting in 2017. Schnabel and Shayk have been photographed together multiple times during the last few months, often taking walks together with Shayk’s daughter.
Love life aside, we hope to see plenty more of Shayk’s inimitable ‘mom’ style in the future—ugg boots included.
