It’s officially Pisces season, also known as Rihanna season, but though no one will ever be a more iconic Pisces than she, it appears another hugely popular singer’s birthday also falls within the signature sensitive, loves a cry and really loves The Notebook, sign. Everyone’s favourite Gen Z pop star, Olivia Rodrigo.

Celebrating her 19th birthday in Los Angeles over the weekend, the Filipina-American, who’s adopted Y2K as her signature style everywhere from her Britney Spears-esque music videos to the red carpet, stuck to what she knows, wearing a hot pink two-piece set by Nφdress, made up of a lingerie-like silk crop top and a matching midi-skirt in same the fabric.

On her feet, the birthday girl wore a black suede chunky pair of Mary Jane platform pumps by Naked Wolfe, her go-to vegan shoe brand of which she also owns a pair of chunky knee-high boots. Rodrigo accessorised with a magenta and midnight blue ring from MBK Jewellery and a baby pink cowgirl hat that read “Birthday Girl”.

In her gallery of images from her party, Rodrigo included a look at her cake, which was adorned with Lorde lyrics, reading, “I’m 19 and I’m on fire.” (Very big Pisces energy, if ever I’ve seen it).

Just yesterday, news broke that Rodrigo had reportedly broken up with her 24-year-old film and music video producer boyfriend, Adam Faze. The pair never outright commented on their relationship, but have been rumoured to have been dating – and have been spotted kissing – for around a year.

Prior to this relationship, Rodrigo previously dated her High School Musical: The Musical: The Series costar Joshua Bassett, who’s widely thought to be the influence behind her debut album Sour‘s heartbreak-heavy lyrics. Sorry about the breakup, but happy that there’s likely some new teen-angst music coming our way soon. No one makes better heartbreak ballads than a broken-hearted Pisces, after all.
