Fresh off the back of the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival, which saw the world premiere of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis, 24-year-old Olivia DeJonge has made her way home to Australia.
Attending the Sydney premiere of Elvis at the State Theatre, DeJonge wore a custom Prada gown with a Bulgari Serpenti Viper necklace.
DeJonge walked the red carpet with co-star Austin Butler, who plays Elvis Presley in the film, which is set to premiere in Australian movie theatres later this month. While Butler plays the lead role in the movie, DeJonge stars alongside him as Priscilla Presley.
The film received a standing ovation at Cannes Film Festival, just a few weeks ago. Following the premiere, Butler told press about his unwavering commitment to the role and his efforts to get the depiction of Presley just right.
“I basically put the rest of my life on hold for two years. I just went down the road of obsession,” said Butler. “I would watch one second of a clip over and over and over and look at what his eyes were doing, what his hands were doing and practice that until it was in my marrow.”
Elvis hits Australian theatres on June 23, and you really won’t want to miss it – trust us.
