Farewell, cheap threads!

Meghan Markle has one of the most enviable wardrobes in the world, thanks to designers throwing their finest threads at her and a royal bounty in the bank.

But it hasn’t always been this way. Before she became a household name on Suits, and then the Duchess of Sussex, she was just another actress in Los Angeles trying to pay the bills with inconsistent acting jobs and a car with doors that didn’t open.

So when Meghan hit the big time, getting cast as Rachel Zane in Suits in 2011 at the age of 30, earning a hefty salary that would allow her to buy designer clothing, she reportedly threw a party where she gave away her chain-store wardrobe.

As per Vanity Fair:

“According to a Hollywood source, when her star was rising she threw herself a party at her home unofficially billed as a ‘Sayonara Zara’ party and gave away the lower- priced clothes in her closet to her guests.”

An alternative name for the party could have been ‘H&M, who needs them?’
