Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Reveal Their 2020 Christmas Card

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and baby Archie are spending their first Christmas in America this year—and if their Christmas card is anything to go by, tomorrow’s festivities will be nothing short of idyllic. In an Instagram post by the charity Mayhew, of which Meghan is a patron, we see the family of three in the backyard of their Montecito home, flanked by a Christmas tree, and the couple’s two dogs, a Beagle called Guy and a Labrador called Oz.

Though the original photograph has been digitally rendered, Meghan is clearly wearing a typically Meghan ensemble: skinny leg blue jeans, knee-high leather boots, and a casual button-down shirt. Archie, who will turn two in May, looks particularly grown-up—a reminder that we haven’t seen the royal tot in more than six months, since the couple released a video of Meghan reading a bedtime story to their son in support of an initiative by Save The Children UK.

“We’re thrilled to receive wonderful Christmas wishes from our Patron, The Duchess of Sussex,” Mayhew—a UK-based animal shelter—wrote in the post. “The Duke and Duchess have also made a personal donation, helping us continue to be there for the dogs, cats, and people in our community this winter and beyond.” A spokesperson for the Sussexes later revealed that the original picture was taken by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, earlier in December. “The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays.”

It’s likely that the couple would have travelled back to the United Kingdom to celebrate Christmas with the royal family, had it not been for travel restrictions related to Covid-19. As the United Kingdom enters tier four for the holiday season, the British royals will be isolatung separately, rather than keeping their tradition of celebrating the holiday season at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. The Queen and Prince Philip will be at Windsor Palace, while Harry’s brother, Prince William, and his family will be at Kensington Palace.
