2022 is Lily James‘ year to shine – literally. After several iconic acting roles (including her star turn as Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy) and a bunch of award nominations, the actor has now been announced as the new face of Charlotte Tilbury. As revealed in a statement from the wildly popular beauty brand, James will front the first-ever campaign for Charlotte’s Magic Cream, which is one of the makeup legend’s best-selling products.
“It’s a dream come true to be joining Charlotte Tilbury as her new beauty muse! Charlotte is a legendary makeup artist and I had so much fun shooting her Magic Cream campaign, and learning about the science behind the magic! Ever since Charlotte gave me a pot of her iconic Magic Cream, I have been obsessed – I can’t live without it!” an excited James said in the statement released to press.
She continued, “I’m always on the go and when I have hectic days on set wearing heavy makeup and not getting much sleep, my skin really suffers. Being on camera is a huge part of my job and I have to look and feel my best. Charlotte’s Magic Cream is the only moisturiser I can rely on to keep my skin feeling hydrated, plump and smooth – it gives me instant results and that famous red-carpet ready glow!”
The brand unveiled James as the cult cream’s face on its new dedicated skincare Instagram account, which aims to spotlight Charlotte Tilbury’s growing range of science-led skincare products. In a post announcing James’ appointment, founder Tilbury wrote, “Lily is an incredibly talented actress, a dear friend and SO much fun to work with! She understands the power of great skincare and makeup – that’s why she is the perfect MAGICAL BEAUTY ICON for my ICONIC MAGIC CREAM. Lily LOVES how Magic Cream PLUMPS, SMOOTHS, HYDRATES and makes her skin GLOW after long days on set! She CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT!”
James has been working with the brand for a number of recent red carpet appearances, including her bronzed look at the Emmy’s and a memorable “mermaid shimmery” look for this year’s Met Gala. For each appearance, James’ skin was prepped with Charlotte’s Magic Cream, which is famous for transforming the skin from dull and dehydrated to glowing in just 28 minutes, as well as the new Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer ($49) to lift and sculpt the face.
