Fashion’s cyclical nature means plenty of looks once considered deathly style faux pas – think sneakers with jeans, jet black teamed with navy, normcore sandals under tailored suit pants, even blue-rinse hair under the age of 80 – are now all high fashion for hipsters.

But there’s one universal style law amongst the tasteful that’s always a constant: never wear more than one leopard motif at a time. Until now.

Fashion fortune clearly favours the brave because leopard-on-leopard – an extension of this season’s high matchy-matchy trend – is now a “thing”. The trick to doing it right though involves finding prints that are identical or, at the very least, in the same colour palette.

This concept extends to all animal prints and block colours too. Alessandro Michele sent models down his Autumn/Winter runway in matching snakeskin jackets and skirts. Leather master Loewe offers a bright orange belt to twin its new season hammock bag’s hue this season.

Feeling nervous? Start small with a matching clutch and slide or belt, then work your way up to a savage coat with skirt combo.
