Like those before her—Margot Robbie, Zendaya and Blake Lively—it looks as though Lady Gaga will, too, slip into theme to promote her new movie.
At the London premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux, the 38-year-old singer and actor opted for a dramatic cherry red custom gown by Celine to pay homage to her character Harleen Lee Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn. Gaga was all smiles in the strapless gown which featured an asymmetrical skirt and cropped jacket with cartoonish shoulders. Doing away with her blonde hair, the star wore a choppy red and black bob—likely a wig—reminiscent of the villainous Cruella de Vil. On her eyelids, a vivid cerulean blue that Ms. Quinn herself would approve of.
To finish off the look, Gaga wore a whimsical Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock brooch and Vigne ring. Her bracelet and earrings, in platinum and 18k yellow gold with Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds, were also from Tiffany & Co. Gaga recently wore the jeweller on the carpet at the film’s premiere at the Venice International Film Festival in August.

Gaga was joined by her Joker co-star Joaquin Phoenix and fiancé Michael Polansky. The star recently revealed her own mother, Cynthia Germanotta, set her up with her now fiancé. “My mum met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’” Gaga recalled. “I could never have imagined that my mum … found the most perfect person for me?”
The couple met soon after at a friend’s birthday party.
Directed by Todd Phillips, the movie focuses on the love story between Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) and Harley Quinn (Gaga) after they meet at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum.
Joker: Folie à Deux will hit Australian cinemas on October 3.
