There is something particularly special about Christmas in 2022. International borders are open and families are gathered without restrictions for the first time in years. Celebrating this end of year magic – a holiday once dear to Christian Dior – the House has unveiled an irresistibly refined Christmas log, at La Pâtisserie of 30 Montaigne in Paris. A desert to savour on the spot or to take home and shared with family and friends.

Also known as the bûche de Noël, it’s a traditional Christmas cake hailing from France, Belgium and Switzerland, often containing a buttery sponge cake and light creamy filling.

Expressing the virtuosity of chef Jean Imbert and his pastry chef Romuald Bizart, this exceptional iteration is embellished with a dreamlike motif thought up by artist Pietro Ruffo for Dior Cruise 2023. Punctuated with flowers and symbolic references, such as the iconic compass rose and the Sevillian knot, it is almost too beautiful to eat.

The creation is exclusive to La Pâtisserie at the Parisian Dior flagship – a pristine dessert destination overlooking the rose garden – and available from December 19. To finish the luxurious presentation, the Christmas log is delicately presented in a golden box decorated with a textured drawing of the facade of 30 Montaigne. A delicious and enchanting ode for travellers this festive season.
