The first arrondissement of Paris appeared more radiant than usual this week, with luxury French jeweller Chaumet unveiling their latest High Jewellery collection in the Maison’s iconic 12 Vendôme address; the original epicentre of Parisian elegance.

With the Haussmann-style Place Vendôme boutique flanked to the south by the Jardin des Tuileries, the grand salons served as the perfect locale to unveil their latest masterfully crafted High Jewellery collection—a 68-piece dance realised in material form as Chaumet’s very own private garden.

Indeed, in this new collection entitled Le Jardin De Chaumet, the luxuriate builds upon two centuries of tradition as a naturalist jeweller and cements its inextricable link with Paris through their enchanting waltz through their own botanical offering, one not too dissimilar to the evocative gardens that borders Chaumet’s High Jewellery workshop.

Imagined as a poetic promenade through a melange of botanical references, Chaumet invites us on a journey through four floral chapters; Wood & Undergrowth, Flowers, Fields and Bouquets of the World.

In these categories, Chaumet’s savoir faire is exemplified, with gold sculpted into gilded leaves (each with its own detailed frond) or a Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond fortifying a dégradé diamond pansy brooch.

In Wood & Undergrowth, a new perspective is employed through the realistic recreation of underestimated shrubbery like mistletoe and fern. The most remarkable piece from this range is the Gui parure, with the necklace its pièce de résistance.

A double ribbon necklace interlaced with diamonds takes shape as protruding leaves made from brilliant cut stones and clusters of pearls conjure the image of a bespoke bristle. The centrepiece is a cushion-cut Colombian emerald of 21.59 carats, injecting the dainty piece with an intense rigour highlighting the formidable nature of the Maison.

In Fields and Flowers, the voyager’s odyssey expands into a bucolic vision of Chaumet’s naturalistic vocabulary.

Through Fields, wheat and vine leaf motifs are released through a harvest and yellow and white gold, shimmering in pastoral light through an abundance of diamonds.

Similarly, in Flowers, four flowers (pansy, tulip, iris and arum) bring a wealth of colour to the garden through blue, pink and Padparadscha sapphires, along with the aforementioned yellow diamond, just to name a few.

The last collection, Bouquet of the World, symbolises Chaumet’s perpetually growing roots reaching all corners of the globe with agapanthus, magnolia and chrysanthemum silhouettes graphically reenvisioned in Chaumet’s signature refinement.

In harmony with nature, a new form of transformative bijoux is realised. One as tender as a sumptuous stroll through a garden. Le Jardin De Chaumet, that is.
