Kylie Jenner announced the birth of her first child on Monday, revealing she and Travis Scott welcomed a baby girl on February 1.

But she’s yet to reveal the name she chose for her daughter, although her die-hard fans are convinced they’ve figured it out: Butterfly, or a variation of the word.

Some Kylie obsessives have noticed that Jenner has featured a lot of butterflies in what she’s shared on social media lately, including several instances of butterfly jewellery and butterflies decorating her baby’s nursery.

A glimpse of the nursery in Kylie’s ‘To Our Daughter’ video.

She and Travis Scott also have matching butterfly tattoos, and his song Butterfly Effect is one of his biggest hits.

The theory goes that Kylie and Travis will name their little girl Butterfly, Mariposa or Monarch. Mariposa being the Spanish word for butterfly, and Monarch being a kind of butterfly.

Given the Kardashian-Jenner tendency to name their offspring something unusual but use a nickname on a day-to-day basis – Kim’s daughter North goes by Nori, and her youngest Chicago goes by Chi – that could leave the nickname Mari, Mona or Posie, the latter of which is also the name of a recently released Kylie Cosmetics shade.

It’s not a bad theory – hopefully Kylie and Travis don’t wait long to spill the beans.
