What does one wear to the premiere of a horror film? Well, if you’re Kristen Stewart, the answer is: Chanel.

Attending the first screening of David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival overnight, Kristen Stewart, 33, and French actor Léa Seydoux, 36, looked anything but frightening.

Bringing patent leather, sequins, embellishments, and the best bow-skirt I’ve ever seen to the red carpet, there’s no denying that these are two of the best looks we’ve seen at the festival so far.

Crimes of the Future, written and directed by Cronenberg, is a body horror film that’s said to have gotten mixed reactions from the audience at Cannes, with some people allegedly finding the subject matter a little too much to stomach.

Starring Stewart and Seydoux, along with Viggo Mortensen and Don McKellar, Crimes of the Future follows the story of a performance artist couple (played by Seydoux and Mortensen) whose onstage show involves the harvesting of organs in front of a live audience. In the film, Stewart plays Timlin, an investigator with the National Organ Registry.

The film has the same title as a 1970 film also directed by Cronenberg, but isn’t a remake.

Thankfully, the film’s gory subject matter didn’t stop Stewart and Seydoux from having a red carpet moment that nobody will forget in a hurry.
