Lady Kitty Spencer – famously known as the niece to Princess Diana – has wed 62-year-old billionaire Michael Lewis at the weekend. In a luxury ceremony at the 16th century Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati, the couple shared their big day with the likes of Spencer’s twin sisters Eliza and Amelia, and the Viscountess Emma Weymouth and her husband Ceawlin Thynn. According to news.com.au, celebrity guests included Pixie Lott, Mark Vandelli and Idris Elba’s wife, Sabrina.
Italian designer Dolce & Gabbana shared some behind-the-scenes footage of the making of a number of custom gowns they created for for the Royal. But the wedding ceremony gown? A spectacular, head-to-toe lace dress with a Victorian-inspired collar, dramatic shoulders and cascading veil. (If you do one thing today, watch the below video. It’s breathtaking craftmanship.)
The fashion house later shared a closer look at a baby blue evening gown worn at the reception which also featured a cape, and resembled the gown Sharon Stone wore to the Cannes Film Festival last week. (Fashion lovers will know Lady Spencer actually wore Stone’s design back in May!) Who said the bride doesn’t wear colour?
Lady Spencer regularly posts to Instagram and shared a number of happy snaps from her bachelorette event several days prior to the wedding. She was spotted wearing a slinky Dolce & Gabbana midi dress – a fitting choice for the former bride-to-be.
Lewis is a well-respected businessman in the fashion industry. He is the chairman of South African Foschini group and owns high street stores Whistles and Phase Eight. The couple are believed to have first linked in 2018 before they were pictured for the first time in New York in 2019. The 62-year-old proposed to Lady Spencer before Christmas the same year.
Lady Spencer was in attendance at both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s, and Kate Middleton and Prince William’s respective weddings. It’s not known if her cousins were present at her lavish soirée.
As the Royal proves, age is just a number.
