Kendrick Lamar has topped the 2018 Triple J Hottest 100 list, coming in at the number one spot with his hit track Humble.

It’s only the second time a hip-hop song has taken out the top spot, following Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ Thrift Shop in 2012.

Lamar has been on a steady rise for several years, but he’s truly having a moment right now. He’s the second most-nominated artist at next week’s Grammy Awards, up for seven awards after Jay-Z’s eight.

Humble is up for Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song and Best Music Video.

It was confirmed that the Swimming Pools rapper will also open the ceremony, which airs on Monday morning AEST.
