Designed by Robert Dumas in the ’30s, the lauded Hermès Kelly Bag was named in honour of actress-cum-royal Grace Kelly who was photographed wearing the bag several times throughout 1956. Through a trapezoidal architecture of leather, and featuring two side straps, a clasp, a padlock, and a key-holder, the Kelly has become one of the most coveted luxury leather goods around the world.

In honour of the intricate craftsmanship, design cues of the beloved top-handle bag have been reimagined into a fine jewellery collection, Kellymorphose, in rose gold, spinel gemstone, white gold, solid silver and diamonds.

Every piece from the collection is a strong and playful statement by Pierre Hardy, Creative Director of Hermès Jewellery. Chains are featured and offer multiple ways to style – once round, twice round, in the dip of the décolleté or cascading down the back – featuring precious diamond-set clasps. Contemporary jewellery arrives in the form of the Alpha Kelly double rings and the Kelly Gavroche necklace, which is tied to create an illusion of an ethereal scarf.

“The Kelly Bag elevated its functional components: the side straps, and an elemental clasp consisting of a turnlock, a plate and four studs. I do the same with Kelly jewellery, by reinterpreting or disrupting its original lines,” says Hardy.
