With season four of The Crown fast approaching, it’s only natural that the British Royal Family will start to peak people’s interest again for what seems like the first time in months. With the pandemic and US election taking up space in people’s minds recently, plus the former placing everyone in London back into lockdown for the second time this year, we’ve seen and heard less from Buckingham Palace than any other year in recent history.
So it was welcome news when Queen Elizabeth II, joined by Kate Middleton and Prince William as well as Charles and Camilla, stepped out for Remembrance Sunday, attending a service at The Cenotaph in London.
Though Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were missed – mostly for a look at Markle’s outfit of choice, which we later got to see when she and Harry paid tribute across the ocean in LA, Middleton’s look was, of course, perfectly chic. For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a coat by her favourite designer, Alexander McQueen, as well as a Philip Treacy hat (also one of her go-to British designers), and a pair of diamond and pearl earrings, which belong to Queen Elizabeth II.
Though Middleton borrows jewels from the Queen quite regularly (it’s a hard life), the last time she was photographed wearing this particular pair of earrings was in 2019 when she attended the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. Prior to that, she donned the understated pearls when she left the Lindo Wing with Prince Louis in April 2018.
Oh, to have a palace filled with jewels to borrow whenever your heart desires. Does anyone know where one can find another prince in London?
