A service for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II took place on Westminster Abbey on Wednesday where the Royal Family gave their final farewells over her coffin before the funeral next week. Kate Middleton attended the short procession in all black and honoured the Queen, like she has often done in the past, with her jewellery.

The Princess of Wales, as noted by The Court Jeweller, wore a white diamond and pearl pin on the lapel of her coat which was once worn by the late Queen in 1999. She also wore a pair of pearl drop earrings that were once owned by the late Princess Diana. Meghan Markle was also in attendance at the service and paid homage to Her Majesty with pearl and diamond earrings that were reportedly gifted to her by the Queen.

Early this week the Duchess of Sussex was captured on a walkabout outside Cambridge Gate at Windsor Castle wearing a Cartier watch which was also once owned by Princess Diana.

Unlike his brother Prince William, Prince Harry was not dressed in military uniform for the procession – due to exiting royal duties in 2020 – and instead wore a black mourning suit. It was a very sad occasion for the Duke of Sussex who was photographed wiping away tears inside the royal church.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away on September 8 at Balmoral Castle aged 96. She served the United Kingdom and Commonwealth for 70 years. She is succeeded by King Charles III. Her Majesty’s state funeral will occur from 11am local time (and 8pm AEST) on September 19 from Westminster Abbey in London.
