Back in August Justin Bieber made good on a threat to his followers that he’d delete Instagram if they didn’t stop making “mean” comments on photos he posted of his then-girlfriend, model Sofia Richie, suddenly shutting down his account.

But after six months it seems Bieber thinks his fan base has been punished enough, as he re-activated his account on Saturday. Or perhaps more accurately, Justin was probably contractually obliged to re-open his account, because the first thing he posted was his commercial for T Mobile which will air during the Super Bowl.

Let me see your #unlimitedmoves

It’ll be interesting to see how much of his life Justin chooses to share with the world, especially since he slammed the app during a concert in November.

“Nah, I don’t want to get my Instagram back” he told the crowd during the European leg of his Purpose Tour. “I’m sure… I think hell is Instagram. I’m 90 percent sure. We get sent to hell, we get like locked in the Instagram server.”

Justin and ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez exchanged harsh words on Instagram in the days before he shut down his account last year, and coincidentally (or maybe not) she took a three-month hiatus from the platform last year. It could be a new year and a fresh start for the exes … except Selena is now dating Bieber’s competition The Weeknd. No chance.
