Last month Justin Bieber cemented himself firmly in the Northern Hemisphere’s essential summer playlist thanks to undeniably cool electro track Cold Water, which he collaborated on with Diplo and Major Lazer.
Clearly determined to have his voice heard at every party for the rest of the summer (in the Northern Hemisphere and continuing on into Australia’s warm months ahead), on Friday he kicked off the weekend with another EDM track, the singer featuring on DJ Snake’s latest release Let Me Love You.
Like Cold Water and his other popular electronic songs Sorry and Where Are U Now with Diplo and Skrillex, Let Me Love You is the kind of track non-beliebers would have no idea Justin was singing on if they didn’t see the credits. It’s tropical EDM-pop, the perfect summer rooftop party tune.
Adding further weight to the theory that there’s still something going on between Justin and ex Selena Gomez, Selena actually previewed Let Me Love You on her Snapchat account this week, days before the song dropped. Clued-up fans recognised the synth beats from a mysterious clip she shared.
With Justin firmly on Kanye’s side in the Kimye versus Taylor Swift feud, a relationship between Justin and Selena, however platonic, puts Gomez in an awkward position between her best friend and her … well, whatever Justin is to her right now.
Mark our words, there’ll be drama.
