Fans across the world are divided; part excited, part outraged, that acclaimed author J.K. Rowling has decided to draw out her Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beast and Where To Find Them to five films. “I’m pretty sure that there are going to be five movies, now that I’ve been able to properly plot them out,” the author and screenplay writer said. “We always knew that there would be more than one.”
But five? Warner Bros announced in August 2016 there would be a sequel to the first Fantastic Beasts film and while we’ll be introduced to Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) in November this year, fans will need to wait until November 2018 for the second release. As a prequel to the incredible successful Harry Potter franchise, this of course begs the question: how long can Rowling drag out this plotline? And does this mean we need to wait ten years to see the entire five films?
Five. Not seven. Not three. Five.
(Got a feeling this is going to be the new ‘not a prequel’). https://t.co/ZkjEeeDQjj
