Red Sparrow co-stars Jennifer Lawrence and Joel Edgerton are reportedly more than just colleagues.
According to the Daily Telegraph, “rumours are swirling throughout Hollywood” that the Oscar winner and Australian actor are an item” after “the co-stars [have often been] seen having private moments, chatting and giggling together.”
Pictures of Jennifer and Joel together in recent days do little to quell the speculation; at a Red Sparrow event in New York on Monday night, he kept his arm wrapped tightly around her waist and seemed to become protective of her in response to a question from paparazzi or someone else off-camera.
Photos from the London premiere earlier this month also appear telling, the pair playfully touching each other and giggling while they posed.
Edgerton, who received critical acclaim in the US for his performance in 2016 film Loving, defended Jennifer after she was criticised for wearing a skin-baring dress in freezing temperatures while her male co-stars bundled up.
He told News.com.au she would have been criticised whether she was “wearing a pair of Levi’s or track pants and a duffel coat” and that he “felt she looked beautiful.”
While reps for Jennifer and Joel are yet to confirm or deny the reports, those pictures don’t lie.
