Jennifer Lawrence has been named the face of Dior’s first new perfume since 1999

This awards season, Jennifer Lawrence is going for the trifecta – of Dior campaigns, that is.

The actress has been tapped by Christian Dior to be the face of an as-yet unreleased scent by Dior perfumer-creator, François Demachy, that will be released at an undisclosed date later this year. Perhaps most significantly, it’s the first time that the house has released a major fragrance pillar since 1999, when the now-iconic J’Adore line arrived on the market.

Lawrence has been an ambassador for the house’s ready-to-wear and accessories since 2012. Her first accessories campaign was released in 2013; a beauty campaign, for the Dior Addict Lipstick, dropped in 2015; and most recently, Lawrence has appeared in ads for both ready-to-wear collections, as well as the charitable initiative, Dior Love Chain.

In a statement, Dior teased the new scent as “an unprecedented fragrance and a powerful universe which mark the beginning of a new era for fragrance at the house of Dior” and anticipated that Lawrence will bring her “radiant beauty and joie-de-vivre to this new, extraordinary creation”.
