If there’s one celebrity whose wellness tips and tricks we’d eagerly adhere to, it’s Jennifer Aniston. But as genetically blessed and hardworking as she is, even she can’t deny the wonders of a well-equipped beauty shelf.

Luckily for us, the actress does not gatekeep. From sharing her favourite salad recipes to her workout routines, Aniston is all about letting us in on the keys to her gravity-defying looks. And now, she’s even given us the scoop on the beauty essentials that keep her skin glowy at 54.

In an interview with Byrdie, the Murder Mystery star revealed that her favourite skincare step is a good retinol—one by her go-to facialist, Shani Darden, to be specific. Though she admits she tends to “move around a lot” with skincare, she’s loyal to a few effective products.

“Shani Darden is a facialist here, and I love her,” she said of the celebrity aesthetician, who counts Jessica Alba, Shay Mitchell and January Jones as part of her Hollywood clientele.

“Her retinol is so good, and her serums are fantastic… She has a great lab that she works with, and the packaging is beautiful,” she noted.

According to Darden’s website, the serum contains a more gentle slow-release retinol that helps reduce visible signs of aging, exfoliates with the use of lactic acid, and provides antioxidant defence against visible sun damage and pollution.

“I created this serum as an alternative to harsh, traditional retinoids. Retinol is the most effective anti-aging ingredient, and this serum delivers—without irritation,” she writes on her site.

In addition to retinol, Aniston credited her trusted Aveeno face wash that she uses daily—she was once an ambassador for the brand—as well as toners by French favourite Biologique Recherche—also loved by the Olsens.

Another makeup bag favourite of hers was revealed as Tatcha’s The Serum stick, which she uses to hydrate and prep her skin for makeup.
